Core features
1. Rated load: 10 tons - the maximum weight that can be safely lifted.
2. Lifting height: 18 meters - the core difference, which significantly affects the following designs:
Increased drum size: larger length and diameter to accommodate longer wire ropes (usually multiple layers are required).
Wire rope is longer and thicker: the length is at least 18 meters (including the safety ring), and higher strength or larger diameter wire ropes (such as 6 or 8 strands) may be used to withstand the additional pressure and wear caused by multiple layers of winding.
Upgraded rope guide/rope guide: Especially critical! It must be equipped with a high-performance and high-reliability automatic rope guide (such as a heavy-duty spiral rope guide or a lever-type forced rope guide) to ensure that the wire rope can still be tightly and neatly arranged when multiple layers are wound, and absolutely prevent rope disorder and jumping (the risk of rope disorder at a height of 18 meters is much higher than that of 6 meters).
The lifting speed may be adjusted: Under the same motor power, the full-load lifting speed may be slightly lower than the 6-meter model (due to the larger drum and greater load inertia). Some high-end models will maintain speed by increasing motor power or optimizing the reduction ratio.
3. Enhanced European design features
Structural reinforcement:
The load-bearing structures such as the main beam, end beam, and drum bracket need to be further reinforced to cope with the additional load and torque brought by the larger drum and longer wire rope.
The wheel pressure and wheelbase of the running trolley (if any) may need to be redesigned to accommodate the extended hoist body.
Safety redundancy is upgraded again:
The dual braking system is still standard: mechanical brake (disc) + electromagnetic brake (conical rotor/disc), and the braking torque needs to match the larger inertia.
Overload protection is more critical: It is strongly recommended to be equipped with a high-precision electronic weighing device (rather than a conventional mechanical type) as standard, which displays the load in real time and provides a more reliable overload cutoff.
Multiple limit protection:
High-precision upper and lower limit switches: At a height of 18 meters, the consequences of "top-rushing" or excessive lowering are more serious, and the accuracy and reliability of the limit switch are required to be higher (absolute encoders or multi-contact switches are often used).
Anti-loose rope protection: Automatically cut off the power supply when the wire rope is too loose to prevent the rope from getting tangled and heavy objects from falling.
Wire rope status monitoring (optional): High-end models can be equipped with an online wire rope monitoring system to detect hidden dangers such as broken wires and wear.
4. High performance and long life enhancement:
Motor power improvement: Usually more powerful than the 6-meter motor of the same tonnage (such as 13kW or 15kW instead of 11kW) to overcome the larger drum inertia and maintain efficiency, and better heat dissipation design is required.
Reducer enhancement: Use a larger specification or stronger material hardened gearbox to transmit greater torque and ensure the reliability of long-term high-lift operation.
Higher requirements for wire rope: Wire ropes with better anti-rotation and anti-extrusion properties (such as 8-strand compacted wire ropes) must be used to resist the internal stress generated by multi-layer winding and extend the service life. Usually galvanized grade.
Working level: Still mainly M5 (FEM 1Am), but the selection of key components (bearings, wire ropes) needs to consider higher use intensity.
Frequency conversion control is highly recommended (not standard but extremely important):
Especially critical for 18-meter height! The smooth start and stop, precise micro-speed (slow positioning) function brought by the frequency converter can greatly reduce the long-distance swaying of the load at high altitude, significantly improving operational safety and positioning efficiency.
